Michele decided in 1990 to see if square dancing was something that she would like.  Dave was living in Kansas City, Missouri at the time. Michele was in Dallas so Dave recommended Michele go check out the Yellow Rockers Square Dance lessons being taught by Charlie Hendricks. She did and found great fun!

Dave moved back to the Dallas area and in 1992 Michele and Dave were married!

Michele started playing around with cueing in late 1996, taking a dance class from Pat and Paul Goodson while Dave encouraged her from his experience as a cuer. She also learned to dance and cue the Cha-cha rhythm from Charlie Procter by traveling to Paris, Texas for over an hour each way. Then in 2019 Michele retuned her microphone and began learning to call. Having a veteran and expert caller in the house has been very helpful.

The fun has turned into a lifetime of service to the activity!  She has held various appointed positions with the North Texas Callers Association as well as; Vice President, and Secretary. Additionally, she has been member of the East Texas Callers Association, and the Texas State Callers Association.

​

During her time with the Texas Callers Association Michele held the offices of: Trustee, Secretary, Vice President and President. She served on the board for over ten years. In 2019 Michele was awarded the highest honor of Life Member  of the Association; an honor only bestowed to 4 members of the association since 1976.

​

Michele has cued in many states in the US and belongs to both CALLERLAB and ROUNDALAB. She has called guest tips and for a brave group that lets her practice in Florida. She has also called/cued at the Texas State Convention and called at the Florida State Convention. She is a member of the Florida Callers Association and the Tri-County Callers and Cuer Association in Florida.
